In 01.07.1944, Kyiv Management of Radiocommunications & Broadcasting was established.
 
On the basis of the Decree of People’s Commissariat of Communications of USSR No 328 dated 14 June 1944, and Order on Kyiv Regional Management of Communications No 207 dated 29 June 1944, instead of existing Kyiv Receiving-Transmitting Radio Center, the Management of Radiocommunications and Broadcasting was organized at Kyiv Regional Management of Communications, to the composition of which all receiving and transmitting radio stations were included.  Kyiv Management of Radiocommunications and Broadcasting related to radio enterprises of the first category.

In 05.11.1951,   with the first pilot television program, Kyiv Television Center (TVC) started it’s existence, which was created in 1949-1951, in composition of which broadcasting studio and ultra-short waves radio station (USWR) were established.

In 01.01.1973, The Republican Management of Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television (RMRT) of Ministry of Communications of Ukrainian SSR was created.

In accordance with Directive of Council of Ministers of Ukrainian SSR  No 837-р dated 9 October 1972 and  Order of Minister of Communications of Ukr.SSR No 216 dated 19 October 1972 on the basis of liquidated Main Radio Management of Ministry of Communications of Ukr.SSR on Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television Matters, the Republican Technical and Production Management of Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television  of Ministry of Communications of Ukr.SSR (RMRT) was created in city Kyiv on January 1, 1973.

The following enterprises of Ministry of Communications of Ukr.SSR were included directly to the Republican Technical and Production Management of Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television of Ministry of Communications of Ukrainian SSR:

  • MRH-1 – Management of Technical Operations of Radio Relay  Highway (town Mykolayiv);
  • MRH-2 – Management of Technical Operations of Radio Relay  Highway (town Cherkassy);
  • MRH -3 - Management of Technical Operations of Radio Relay  Highway (town Voroshylovgrad);                      
  • Lviv,  Kharkiv,  Odessa,  Vinnytsya and Kyiv  radio centers.


On the basis of the same Order of Minister of Communications of Ukr.SSR, the Republican Transmitting Television Station was subordinated to the Republican Production and Technical Management of  Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television. The Republican Transmitting Television Station became the basic enterprise of Republican Management of Radiocommunications & Television (RMRT).

By the Order of Ministry of Communications dated 07.10.1974 No 153, the name RMRT was renamed to the Republican Center of Radio and Television (RCRT).
In accordance with Order No 140 dated 27 September 1988,  the dependant network of  RMRT  was the following:  Republican Network of Communications (RNC) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Kyiv Radio Center (KRC), Vinnytsya RTTC, Lviv RRTTC, Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Trans-Carpathian, Kyiv regional radio television transmitting centers.

In accordance with the Order No 43 of Ministry of Communications of Ukr.SSR dated 27 March 1989 the Republican Network of Highway Connections and Television No3 (town Voroshylovgrad) was reorganized into Voroshylovgrad Radio Television Transmitting Center  (RRTTC),  the Republican Network of Highway Connections and Television No 7 (town Zaporizhzhya) – into   Zaporizky  Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center (RRTTC).

In 01.04.1989, on the basis of Republican Center of Radio & Television (RCRT), the Production Association of Radiocommunications, Broadcasting and Television of the Ministry of Communications (PA RBT) of the Ukr.SSR was established.

With the purpose of increasing the efficiency of management of  radio television facilities in Kirovograd and Khmelnytsk regions in new economical conditions and also for reason given of  submission applications of labor collectives of Kirovograd, Khmelnytsk centers of  technical operations of  television and broadcasting facilities,  on the basis of  Kirovograd and Khmelnytsk centers  of technical operations of television and radio broadcasting facilities, on 4 January 1991 in town Kirovograd and town Khmelnytsky  the regional radio and television transmitting centers (RRTTC) were created, exercising their rights as structural units, with direct subordination to Production Association of  RRT  (Order No 4 dated  8 January 1991).

In connection with  coming into force the Law of Ukr.SSR  dated 12 February 1991 "About recovery of Crimea Autonomous Socialist Republic" and  request of the labor collective of the Crimea Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center, and in accordance with the Order of Ministry of Communications of Ukr.SSR dated 30 April 1991 No 49 "About Reorganization of the Structure", the Crimea Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center  from 1 June 1991  was renamed into  Radio Television Transmitting Center of Crimea ARSR within the composition of Production Association of RRT  (Order No 62 dated  13 May 1991).

In accordance with he Order No 8 dated 17 June 1991  the acceptance of  facilities and staff of Cherkassy RRTTC  into Production Association of RRT  (main enterprise) - RTC Obukhiv, Berezan, Kagarlyk, Vynarivka, Ivankiv  was made. 

In the composition of main structural unit from 1 July 1991, self-sustained structural sub-division of Technical Operations of Management Center of Radio Relay Links (TOMC RRL) was established on the basis of Central Management Point -07600  (CMP-07600), Kyiv Radio Relay Station (Kyiv RRS)  and  RRS of Kyiv region  (Order No 54 dated 24 April 1991).

In the composition of Production Association of Broadcasting, Radiocommunications and Television  from 1 July 1991  the structural unit – Kherson Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center  (Order No 99 dated 23 July 1991),  Kherson RRTTC  was created on the basis of  Kherson Technical Operations Center of Television and Radio Broadcasting Facilities, exercising its rights as structural unit, with direct subordination to Production Association of Broadcasting, Radiocommunications & Television Concern.

In 1992, on the basis of PA BRT,   Broadcasting, Radiocommunications & Television Concern  (BRT Concern) of State Committee of Communications of Ukraine was established.

Broadcasting, Radiocommunications & Television Concern (BRT Concern) of State Committee of Communications of Ukraine was registered on 12 February 1992 under No 010-378 КЦ   by Executive Committee of Kyiv Local Board of People’s Deputies.  BRT Concern was established  on the basis of Production Association of Broadcasting, Radiocommunications and Television and began its functioning as united production and economic radio television complex, the purpose of which was to ensure national economy, population and defense of Ukraine with the help of   broadcasting, radiocommunications and television facilities.

With the purpose of speeding-up the development of facilities of television, radio broadcasting and radio relay links, Sumy Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center (RRTTC) was organized in Sumy region on 01.01.1993 (Order No 77 dated 25 November 1992) on the basis of  working workshops  RNC-6 (town Poltava), RRL of Sumy workshop, ultra short wave radio station (USWR) of Bilopil’sky workshop,  situated on the territory of  Sumy region. 
In accordance with Order of Ministry of Communications of Ukraine No 91 dated  7 July 1993, on the basis of Technical Operations Center of Radio Broadcasting and Television of Republican Network of Highway Connections and Television No5,  the state enterprise Rivne Regional Radio Television Transmitting Center (RRTTC) was created  (Order No 50  dated  27.07.93 of BRT Concern).

In 2006, with the purpose of creation  the conditions to increase the efficiency of economical activity and ensure the due control for use and  preserving the state property and centralize management system, to improve the interaction with consumers of telecommunications services,  in accordance with the Order of Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine dated  20.07.2006 No 751,   28 enterprises were re-organized  by the way of its  take over to BRT Concern in a way of  separate sub-divisions (branch-offices).
