Broadcasting, Radiocommunications & Television Concern (BRT Concern) is a state-owned operator of TV and radio broadcasting, radiocommunications and satellite communications. Among our customers are: national, regional and local TV and radio broadcasters, commercial broadcasters and telecommunication operators.
The property of the Concern is a state-owned property and is belonging to the Concern under the right of economic management. When exercising the right of economic management, the Concern shall own, utilize and manage the settled property under the approval of Control Authority, and shall take any actions related to it not contradicting the legislation, legal regulatory acts of Control Authority and the Articles of Association.
 
Over three thousand highly qualified specialists manage broadcasting of 30 nationwide TV programs and 15 nationwide radio programs, the programs of regional and local broadcasters, as well as most of the commercial broadcasting companies  throughout the whole territory of Ukraine.  BRT Concern provides complete maintenance and operations of telecommunications networks, satellite and terrestrial broadcast networks.

The history of Broadcasting, Radiocommunications & Television Concern (BRT Concern) goes back to 1944 when Kyiv Directorate for radiocommunications and radiobroadcasting was established. From January 1, 1973 all the television and radio transmission centers of Ukraine as well as all telecommunications and broadcast networks were combined into one production and technology enterprise: Republican production and technology Directorate for radiocommunications, radiobroadcasting and television (RDRT). The following year the name was changed to Republican Radiocommunications, Radiobroadcasting and Television Node (RRTN). Under this name the enterprise was operating during 70s and 80s last century. In 1989 it became production association BRT, and as of 1992 – BRT Concern.
Today BRT Concern includes and manages 27 branch-offices and one enterprise throughout Ukraine.

Our offices and enterprises are licensed to provide the following services:
  • maintenance and operations of terrestrial broadcast networks;
  • maintenance and operations of satellite communications networks;
  • leasing telecommunication channels.
 
The unique infrastructure of BRT Concern includes: over 500 antenna-mast structures, which are 70 to 380 meters high; over 12 000 km of microwave radio relay links; 417 radio and television transmitter sites located throughout the territory of Ukraine (76 of which are high-power); 1173 TV transmitters;  341 radio transmitters;  a satellite communication center.
The unique constructions (towers, RRSs, RRLs ) and technical facilities enable BRT Concern to provide television and radio broadcasting with 95% coverage of the territory of Ukraine.
 
BRT  Concern  is  a  Member  of  the  International  Telecommunications  Satellite  Organization  "INTELSAT"  and  a  shareholder  of European  Telecommunications  Satellite  Organization  “EUTELSAT S.A.”.
 
Space communications facilities of BRT Concern operate HELLAS SAT systems, and can provide satellite program distribution to all regions of the world.
 
The state television and radio broadcasting existing in Ukraine today is the main source of information for the vast majority of Ukrainian population. For the whole period of the independence of Ukraine BRT Concern has been on the “List of Objects not Subject to Privatization Because of their All-State Importance”.
